Our friend and long time Rear Curtain contributor Mark Krajnak recently merged his interest in photography with his love of all things Springsteen in his project Still Runnin’ at Forty. As Mark puts it, “Sometimes you just gotta find that magic, make it happen.” And he did.
Mark impulsively decided to walk the streets of Ashbury Park, NJ last month on the 40 anniversary of the release of Bruce Springsteen And The E Street Band’s landmark album, Born To Run. He spoke with the people he met there and attempted to photograph a portrait of 40 fellow Springsteen fans holding a vinyl copy of Born to Run.
Mark was able to get several terrific portraits, but just as interesting, Mark listened to the stories of the people he met as he spoke to them. Mark learned a little about their lives and their remembrances of their own Springsteen experiences.
This project is a good example of the adage “photograph what interests you” and it’s always fun to see where Mark’s interests lead him. You can see Mark’s Still Runnin’ at Forty project HERE and catch up on all of Mark’s Rear Curtain pieces HERE.
